Love's Burning Tide
Moon has waned, the strength of dusk has died.
Where once the waves were black with might
There now are swept with strokes of light.
Stand! Endure the burning flame of morn,
Hold! Though all from thee thy life is torn;
Let the fire consume and clean
All unpure no more be seen.
Now see the sky torn back, the test!
All barriers thrown back, the sight arrests
As black and white now charge, contend;
Horizons tremble, stars rend.
Oh cloud of day, the shining blaze of night,
The powers of grace and truth now bright
With fiery life confront the gloom,
The darkest powers of the tomb.
Darkness cannot, will not, quench the day
Try, it shall, it can, but will not stay.
Consuming fire within thee hide,
To bring thee to love's other side.
Though burn it shall, all shall be well,
And all be well, and all be well.
